Dirty Drag Queens and Antique Motorcycles (aka Jess's Birthday)

Saturday night the girls and I went out on the town for Jess's birthday. We started the night out at a club called Dirty which we stumbled upon in Chinatown while looking for a quick drink. We got there right as they were opening, so no one was there and getting a drink was obviously very easy. The bartender was nice, but also very insistent that this was THE place to be in Portland, the hottest hotspot, the place where all the beautiful people hang out, blah blah blah. I was immediately glad that we were there before their usual clientele showed up. We had a couple cocktails then headed over to Darcelle's for their excellent drag show. I highly, highly recommend this show to everyone. The staff at Darcelle's is so awesome, the show is entertaining and Darcelle is 68 and still hilarious, so good times are guaranteed. We got front row seats, right up against the stage:

Which was excellent. If you live in Portland and havent gone yet, just effing go already.

After the show we went back to Dirty which was in full swing. One of the doormen decided to deny Shelly entry as she was pretty visibly intoxicated. After a bit of flirting on my part we finally got Shelly in only to take one look around and say "This place sucks" and walk right back out. The bouncer who let us in then grabbed us, took us around to a back door and asked if we would stay if he bought us all a shot. So, of course, shots were had and rugs were cut. We recognized our cue to exit as Shelly fell on the dance floor (taking out a few innocent bystanders) much to the horror of the surrounding "beautiful people". It was kinda fun to go in there, tear it up, and then leave though. Ive decided thats the only way I'll do it in these types of clubs from now on.

From Dirty we trekked to one of my favorite bars downtown, Kelly's Olympian. More beverages and much mac 'n' cheese were consumed. And from Kellys we headed back to our stomping grounds, The Triple Nickel, which we closed down.

Overall the night was more fun than any group of girls should have and by the end of it, my face hurt from laughing so much. It was definitely a night of much needed good times.

On the agenda for tonight is a celebration for Kevins birthday at the BOG hopefully followed by a hell of a lot of not much else for the rest of the week. I am aging and can only handle so many birthdays in a weeks time.
