A little crazy..

People say strange things to other people in downtown Portland. Often. Someone says something random and strange to me at least once a week. Todays example would certainly have to be something a man on the bus said to me earlier today (as a side note, the bus is the prime place to hear something random and strange).
So he sits next to me and is quiet almost the whole bus ride (which isnt very long), and he turns to me and says:
"There arent many Indian people around here"
me: "Im sorry, what?"
him: "There arent many Indian people around here. There arent many Muslims, either"

It occurs to me that (from the looks and sounds of things) that he is probably both Indian and Muslim, so I say:

"Hmm... really? I guess I never really noticed."
him: "All I see here are whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asians. There are absolutely no Indian people here."
me: "Well, I dont think thats necessarily true. I wouldnt say there are none-"
him: "No, its absolutely true, there are virtually zero. I am all alone here."
me: "Well I-"
him: "It is very difficult to live this way. Everyone knows who I am. They know who I am and you know who I am. It is ruining my life, I cant live like this."

And with that, he gets up and gets off the bus.

I just sat there, blinking. I didnt really know what to think of it. He didnt seem like your typical rambling crazy person, running amuck and mumbling non-sense in the streets of downtown. He was clean cut, had a nice pair of glasses, was older and besides the short conversation we had, seemed to have his wits about him completely.

I guess there just comes a time in everyones life where they just seem a little crazy, or are actually starting to become a little crazy. I think this has already happened to me about 3 or 4 times. There will probably be a time in the future when someone much younger than I am blogs about some crazy shit I say to them that day....
