Not that I would expect honesty out of a person ignorant enough to be racist, but dont look me in the eye while having a conversation with me about racism and "diversity" and act like you arent a racist, when you clearly are. Its funny that you tell me you are sick of people "saying one thing, and then doing another" in this town. Citing "Environmentalists that drive SUVs" and "Limousine Liberals" as examples. (And by "funny" I mean "ridiculous".) Being the conservative Republican you are, we disagree about almost everything, however, you are right about one thing: there is a hell of a lot of hypocrisy in this town, but you cant complain about a problem you are clearly a part of.
It seems people (and by "people" I mean "white people") do a great deal of talking about how wrong racism is, but not NEARLY enough acting as though they actually believe this. For an issue that is supposed to be widely understood as socially unacceptable (and from a business stand point, illegal) there sure is A LOT of it going on.
It is frustrating that people pay lip service all day without having a second thought, while there are people who are genuinely plagued by this issue, people whose lives are affected (and in some cases, effectively ruined) who have seemingly no where to go, and nothing they can do about it.
Everyone should be plagued by this! This should weigh heavily on everyone's conscience every day. Even if you have never been discriminated against, it should PISS YOU OFF that there are other people that are.
This is basic human decency, asshole.
