Punk as what?

Though my life isn’t actually interesting enough to merit daily postings, I'll throw another pointless rambling out there.

My friend Chris mentions something I think we can all relate to: missing punk rock. Even if you weren’t necessarily into the genre of music itself, I bet there was a little moment of punk rock time in just about everyones lives. Hell, the president was once a coke head, and that’s pretty punk rock. This got me feeling a little nostalgic for the good ‘ol days when on top of the very short priorities list was having fun. At any cost, really. Maybe they seem more glorious now, years later, while sitting at my desk half blind from staring at spreadsheets all day. Maybe I’ve conveniently forgotten the shitty parts, but hey, sometimes a person just has to look back and say, “Those were the days.”

It seems like once you start to grow up a little, there’s no turning back. Because no matter how often you look back with fondness, you’ll continue to go to work and give a shit the next day and every day after that for the rest of your life. Slaving away, reaching for all those so-close-yet-so-far-away goals from that great cock-tease called life.

Having friends to reminisce with helps keep “The Good ‘Ole Days” alive and well inside though, and I guess that’s about all a grown-up can ask for.

I don't have any friends here that I can share those memories with. It's pretty weird knowing that everyone I know here has never really partied with me, gotten into trouble with me, skated with me, or even really knows me.I have to phone a homie to remind myself of the "good ol' days".That's why I try to break the law at least once a day, and to do something illegal once a day.It keeps me feeling good.It gives me stories to share with my far-away friends.Everyone should call their best friend today and talk about the "good ol' days". They might not be there tomorrow.

Also, owning and using my skateboard on a daily basis keeps me from growing up.She's one of the only constants in my life. There is nothing I'd rather "waste" my time doing.Skateboard=punk?Maybe. Fuck the police.Farts are funny. And people falling down is the funniest shit EVER!!
