The powercord to my stupid laptop is a piece of shit. Its one of those universal powercords that you can buy that come with a bunch of interchangeable tips to fit all kinds of different laptops. Well the tip that fits mine likes to break on the regular. Ive had to replace it twice in the last few months and its pretty annoying. Recently, the whole damn thing decided to stop working and I was able to remedy this in a desperate attempt at ANYTHING to get my goddamn computer back on by shoving a little piece of foil in between the powercord and where it connects to my computer. Im not sure whether or not this is a good idea, but it seems to have worked! Not only is my computer ON, but its been on long enough to fully charge the battery as well. So, that makes me happy.
Of course, as I type that, the damn thing switches to battery power...
GRRR...

Working yet? I'm always amazed by you people - my friend Alison does this too, rigs wire to failing machines.. So you know, it DOES cause electrical fires. I don't think this should stop you but do be cautious, monitor consistently...
